Project Results:

Currently, training of the IWI/EWI is still very traditional and classroom based. To respond to the current socio-economic circumstances, “Digital training for European Welding Inspectors” - aims to offer an innovative digital training course that can be attend in parallel with daily work.

Open digital educational materials are being created to support the implementation of innovative digital technologies for teaching and learning in initial and continuing vocational educational and training (VET), in the field of welds inspections.

These educational materials are developed using innovative curricula aligned to the approach based on Learning Outcomes for a correspondence to the EU Qualifications Framework levels.

Project Result 1:

Guide for Teachers and VET Trainers on Implementation and
Usage of E-learning Digital Tools

Currently, the demand for digital education is growing sharply, and training centres need to adapt to the current trend. There are not enough lecturers who have experience in e-learning and not all lecturers are prepared for this new approach. The Guide for teachers and VET trainers on implementation and usage of e-learning digital tools will consist of educational materials developed to be aligned with the requirements of IAB 195 Guideline on e-learning, and also, as part of the training materials developed for the Short-term Joint Staff Training Programme of the D-EWI project: Digital Training for European Welding Inspectors.

Project Result 2:

E-learning Educational Materials on Quality Assurance/Quality
Control in Inspection

Will consist of e-learning educational materials developed according to the modules “Welding inspection” of EWF IAB 041 Guideline: Module 1. Quality Assurance /Quality Control in Inspection- The innovative character of these education materials will be the new technics and technologies used in e-learning, in line to the latest EU and International standards, as well as scientifically articles that highlight the state of the art in the field.

Project Result 3:

E-learning Educational Materials on Testing of Welds and Reporting

Will consist of e-learning educational materials developed according to the modules “Welding inspection” of EWF IAB 041 Guideline: Module 2. Testing of Welds and Reporting. The innovative character of these education materials will be the new technics and technologies used in e-learning, in line to the latest EU and International standards, as well as scientifically articles that highlight the state of the art in the field.

Project Result 4:

E-learning Educational Materials on Practical Work on Testing

Will consist of e-learning educational materials developed according to the modules “Welding inspection” of EWF IAB 041 Guideline: Module 3. Practical Work on Testing. The guide aims to include means for testing the acquired competence by trainee, to verify the skills acquired across the different technical topics / sections. Also, the innovative character of these education materials will be the new technics and technologies used in e-learning, in line to the latest EU and International standards, as well as scientifically articles that highlight the state of the art in the field.

Project Result 5:

International Standardisation of Practices in E-Learning by Digital Tools

This project result enables possible updates to international standards, guidelines, rules, and operational procedures for the delivery of theoretical and practical training for EWI. It is expected to innovate the training sector by providing further evidence on the effectiveness of the approach and on the availability of harmonised teaching tools and approaches to offer digital training. The innovation gained through this implementation will consist in allowing international organisations following the International and European guidelines the possibility to enhance their digital training offer and significantly increase the amount of existing technical training contents that could be delivered by digital tools, allowing full exploitability of the project outcomes.
